Questions
What happens when I hit 500 words?
The HUD pill politely tells you you're done for today. Tomorrow at midnight, the counter resets — or you upgrade and never see the limit again. Your dictionary, history, and snippets stay yours either way.
Is the Free tier actually usable, or a gimmick?
Usable. 500 words is ≈3.5 minutes of speech — enough for a few emails, a Slack thread, a meeting note. Most people who upgrade do so because they realised they're reaching for the hotkey 30 times a day, not because the limit is artificial.
Why monthly instead of one-time?
Two reasons. Whisper improvements ship continuously and you get them. A small recurring price keeps us independent — no investor clock, no acquisition pressure.
Can I use TapTalk on multiple Macs?
Yes. One Pro license covers your personal Macs — laptop and desktop, for example. We don't count devices.
How do I cancel?
Settings → Billing → Cancel. One click. The app keeps working until the end of the billing period, then drops back to Free — your data stays.
